Plants for Resilient Gardens
Dyfi Plants was founded by Huw Richards and Sam Cooper. Our goal is to provide a wide range of edible and useful plants for small to medium-sized growing projects such as back gardens, smallholdings and community gardens.
With an emphasis on perennial plants and rarer varieties that hold special characteristics, we aim to cater to any project looking to create a resilient garden or edible landscape.
Meet the dyfi plants team

Huw Richards
Founder & Operations
Huw Richards is a permaculturalist and author who fell in love with growing by propagating blackcurrant cuttings at a young age. His work focuses on creating and inspiring people to create their own edible landscapes; be it on their allotment or homestead.

Sam Cooper
Founder & Creative
Sam Cooper is a professional chef by background and an author, and since 2021 has been working alongside Huw in their quest to bridge the gap between the growing and cooking of incredible produce. He is known for being a pioneer in the world of fermentation, and is always on the lookout for new flavours to grow.

William Tweedy
Marketing
William joined the Regenerative Media team to aid their video production side for multiple social media channels, and runs the Dyfi Plants YouTube channel. He also enjoys spending time getting stuck in with the garden, and when he isn’t at work, he is still behind the camera working on his own documentary projects.

Llyr Griffiths
Nurseryman
Llyr Griffiths started working with Huw and Sam at the age of 16, and has now joined the team on a full-time basis since leaving school. He has his own food forest and garden at home, holds a permaculture design certificate through Geoff Lawton’s online course, and loves anything to do with tools and machinery.

Eleri Jenkins
Nursery Manager
Eleri studied wildlife conservation at university. After various roles in the conservation sector, her growing interest in botany led her to pursue horticulture, including a position as deputy head gardener at Palé Hall Hotel. When not in the garden, Eleri can be found on the beach fossil hunting with her two daughters.
